Details

We published our initial report on the rights of disabled people in November 2011, as required by the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

We published more information in July 2017 in connection with the UN’s first periodic review of how the United Kingdom (UK) is implementing the convention.

The UN published its report of ‘concluding observations’ on the first periodic review in August 2017.

On this page we have published our initial response to specific recommendations from the UN’s concluding observations. We were asked to respond to these 12 months after our periodic review. We will provide information on all the recommendations when we have our next periodic review.

The Office for Disability Issues coordinates the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for the UK.
