Civil service pay guidance 2017 to 2018

This guidance provides a framework within which all civil service departments will set pay for 2017 to 2018 and take forward pay strategies and pay reporting.



This guidance covers pay setting arrangements for civil servants throughout the civil service, including departments, non-ministerial departments and agencies, as well as for public sector workers in non-departmental public bodies and other arm’s length bodies. Departments have been funded for an average pay award of 1% for 2017-18. For individual employees the actual increase in pay will vary according to criteria determined by the department, including location, performance, bonuses and promotions.
