Office access and opening times

Dounreay is closed to members of the public. Our office in Thurso has information about our current work programme.

The site is closed to members of the public for safety and security reasons while it is decommissioned.

There is a public viewing area nearby, with car parking and information panels. Please note for the security of the site, armed police will be patrolling the immediate vicinity.

Flying a UAV/drone within the restricted airspace of the Dounreay site is prohibited. If you observe someone preparing to fly, or flying a drone, then please report this immediately to the Civil Nuclear Constabulary on 01847 802130.
