  1. For each sanctions regime: added a summary of the regime's purposes, scope and prohibitions to the guidance page.

  2. All statutory guidance updated for better clarity and usability. No material changes to text (see individual regime pages for their specific updates).

  3. Added pages that list designations and sanctions notices for each sanctions regime.

  4. Updated page to say that the OFSI Consolidated List of Asset Freeze Targets is closing and from 28 January 2026 the UK Sanctions List will be the only source for all UK sanctions designations.

  5. Added 'Global irregular migration and trafficking in persons sanctions: guidance'.

  6. Page updated to make it easier to find the statutory guidance for each sanctions regime. No material changes to text.

  7. Link added for signing up to the new joint UK sanctions email alert service, provided by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) and the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI).

  8. Added contact details for the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI), who took over trade sanctions civil enforcement in October 2024.

  10. 'UK sanctions relating to Burundi' has been removed from the list of regimes because the Burundi (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 were revoked on 16 May 2024.

A regime is a collection of sanctions measures put in place for a particular set of purposes. Regimes can be either ‘geographic’ (relating to a particular country) or ‘thematic’ (relating to a particular issue).
