The local authorities planning calendar provides a summary of important dates for the Department for Education (DfE) activities during a financial and academic year, that relate to local authority funding, finance and compliance with funding regulations.

The calendar is for planning purposes only and dates are provisional and subject to change.

From 2026 to 2027, grant elements for mainstream settings are rolled directly into core dedicated schools grant (DSG) and national funding formula (NFF) allocations. Specific support continues through SBSG 2026.
