HS2 Ltd Residents’ Commissioner
A collection of reports and resources related to the Residents’ Commissioner, and more information about what they mean for the project and for members of the public affected by HS2.
As the HS2 project progresses, there is a need for more open and transparent communication with all residents who are affected by it, and for an impartial monitor to oversee this.
The independent Residents’ Commissioner, Stewart Jackson, makes sure that HS2 Ltd fulfils the commitments in the HS2 community engagement strategy.
The role also includes producing periodic reports and overseeing and monitoring HS2 Ltd’s obligations to the public as set out in the Residents’ charter.
In addition, the Residents’ Commissioner meets regularly with the Minister for HS2 and with the HS2 Ltd Chief Executive about emerging trends and concerns.
The role does not include:
- investigating individual cases
- acting as an arbitrator for individual resident concerns
- dealing with complaints, except specifically with regard to small value disputes. Information about this can be found in Faster evaluation of small-value disturbance disputes
