HS2: safeguarding

This section provides information on safeguarding the HS2 route

Safeguarding is an established part of the planning process, designed to ensure that land which has been identified for major infrastructure projects is protected from conflicting developments.

The current safeguarding directions relate to Phase One of HS2 between London and the West Midlands and the West Midlands to Crewe section of the Phase Two route.
