Mount Sinabung, Karo Regency, North Sumatra
- to within 5km of the crater
Mount Marapi, West Sumatra
- to within 3km of the crater
Mount Semeru, Lumajang Regency, East Java

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Earthquake
On 15 August, a strong offshore earthquake struck north of Flores, causing fatalities, injuries, and damage to buildings and infrastructure in parts of Flores. Numerous aftershocks have been recorded and may continue in the coming days.
A tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake but has since been lifted. Local authorities have reported damage to roads, homes, and public facilities, with landslides and transport disruption affecting some areas.
If you are in Flores or planning to travel there, follow the advice of local authorities, remain alert to aftershocks, avoid damaged buildings and affected coastal areas, and monitor local media and official guidance. Travellers in Flores and neighbouring parts of East Nusa Tenggara should monitor local developments, as aftershocks and transport disruption may affect travel plans.
Global travel impacts due to escalation in the Middle East
Escalation in the Middle East has caused widespread travel disruption, including airspace closures, delayed and cancelled flights.
Commercial options to leave Indonesia remain available, but your travel plans may be affected, even if your destination is not in the Middle East.Before you travel:
