National strike action
On 15 December, a general strike is planned across the Wallonia and Brussels regions. This is expected to affect public transport and some public services, including schools. A demonstration is planned around central Brussels on this day.
On 18 December a farmers’ protest is planned in Brussels. Significant road closures and public transport disruptions are expected, especially around the Schuman area (EU quarter).
Strike action is an ongoing issue that can cause travel disruption. General strikes took place on 31 March, 29 April,14 October and 26 November. Strike action may be announced at short notice.
