Innovation for Education - Rwanda

Innovation for Education is an opportunity to test new ideas to improve the quality of education in Rwanda.

Overview

Innovation for Education was an opportunity to test new ideas to improve the quality of education in Rwanda. The aim was to demonstrate effective and equitable ways of improving children’s learning. Civil society and the private sector were supported to pilot innovative projects with the potential for scale up by government.

Innovation for Education was funded by DFID and implemented in partnership with the Rwanda Ministry of Education. Innovation in Education aimed to identify successful ways of improving the quality of education within 6 thematic areas. Each theme had a funding ‘window’ and organisations were invited to address 1 or more within their projects;

  • accountability and empowerment
  • inclusive education
  • climate change and environment
  • effective teaching and learning
