Register

You can register your arrival at a visitor mooring or to extend your stay (up to a maximum of 72 hours).

You’ll need to know your boat’s name. We’ll also ask you to provide your boat’s registration number if you know it.

Duration of stay

You can moor at a visitor mooring on the River Thames for up to 72 hours. The first 24 hours are free. After 24 hours you must pay a fee.

Your mooring period will start upon arrival. You must register when you arrive.

There is no return within 24 hours.

If you have already registered to moor and you want to extend your stay, you will need to register again. You will need to pay for each additional 24 hours up to 72 hours maximum stay.

Fees

£5.50 for each additional 24 hours (first 24 hours are free).

Maximum stay 72 hours. Overstaying charge of £150 applied each day beyond 72 hours.

No charge incurred during strong stream conditions (Red Boards).

Additional information

The mooring is not transferable and a refund is not available if it is not used. 

If you vacate the mooring, there is no guarantee your space will be available on return. This will be at your own risk and a refund will not given if your space is no longer available.

Registered moorers enter Environment Agency land and moor their vessel at their own risk and responsibility. The Environment Agency accepts no liability or responsibility in the event of any accidents, loss or injury arising out of the use of this ticket. The common duty of care under the Occupiers Liability act 1957 is excluded.

Permission to moor your vessel is granted subject to The Environment Agency (Inland Waterways) Order 2010, Thames Conservancy Acts and Orders 1932 to 1972, The Water Acts 1973 to 2003, The Public Health Act 1936 and their superseding legislation, the Thames Navigational and general Byelaws and such other rules, regulations, byelaws and orders made from time to time by the Environment Agency.
