Guidance

Ozone-depleting substances (ODS)

Groups of ODS with their ozone-depleting potential.

If you work with ozone-depleting substances (ODS), you must follow guidance for ODS users, producers and traders.

You must not use ODS in new equipment or to service existing equipment, unless they are recycled halons for critical uses. You can still use equipment that contains ODS as long as it is not leaking.

The ozone-depleting potential values in the following tables are estimates and are reviewed regularly.
