Council Tax band challenge form
Fill in and send this form to the Valuation Office Agency to challenge your Council Tax band.
Applies to England and Wales
Before you challenge
You must be able to prove that you:
- are the owner or occupier of the property
- have permission to represent the owner or occupier
If you are submitting the challenge on behalf of someone else, you must also fill in an authority to act form and send both forms to the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) together. If you do not send both forms together, your challenge may be marked as invalid.
You can also submit a Council Tax band challenge online, unless you are submitting a challenge on behalf of someone else.
If you want to add a property to the Council Tax valuation list, contact your local council.
Find out what evidence to submit when you:
- have a legal right to make a challenge
- do not have a legal right to make a challenge
- want to delete a property from the Council Tax list
