Details

Residual fuels are fuels not used for electricity generation or road transport, and are defined as non-gas, non-electricity and non-road transport fuels. They include:

  • coal
  • petroleum
  • manufactured solid fuels
  • bioenergy
  • waste

This work forms part of the co-funded Defra / DESNZ National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI) work programme which uses geographic information system (GIS) tools to derive spatially resolved energy consumption estimates.
