Projects are being delivered by organisations including universities, specialist manufacturers, charities and cooperatives, all working to increase the efficiency, sustainability and resilience of UK tree production.
They include using 3D X-ray technology to optimise seed quality, exploring rapid breeding techniques for conifers, and developing automated tree grading systems using artificial intelligence.
