This document has 3 aims:

  • it describes how we are responding to recommendations made in the Eddington study to improve transport’s contribution to economic growth and recommendations made by the Stern review around reducing carbon emissions
  • it sets out DfT’s policy and investment plans for 2013 to 2014
  • it proposes an approach to longer-term transport strategy, building on Sir Rod Eddington’s recommendations and explaining how we will engage with passengers, users and the transport industry
