Details

If you have evidence that may be helpful for marine planning, please first check our preferred data format.

This evidence will be assessed and you will receive a response within 20 working days to confirm whether we are able to consider the data. You can then send evidence by email (if the electronic file is 15 MB or less) or by post as a CD or DVD.

Preferred data format

The Marine Management Organisation would prefer data in a geographic information system (GIS) format that is compatible with ESRI ArcGIS 9.3. This includes shape files, geodatabase or interchange formats such as MapInfo MIF. The data should include XML metadata completed to the Marine Environmental Data and Information Network (MEDIN) standard.

If you cannot provide data in GIS format, your data can still be considered for inclusion but it may take longer to incorporate into our marine evidence base.
