Details

A revised version of the Guidance to licensing authorities on the discharge of their functions under the Licensing Act 2003 was laid before Parliament and came into force on 28 June 2007.

This revises the Guidance first issued by the Secretary of State on 7 July 2004 and subsequently revised on 22 June 2006.  It follows a public consultation on proposed draft revised Guidance from 16 January to 11 April 2007.

Guidance to police officers on the use of closure powers in the Act to deal with disorder or noise nuisance problems on premises is available separately.  This Guidance previously formed Chapter 11 of the Guidance issued under section 182.

To assist with the use of the revised Guidance summaries of the main format changes and substantive changes and additions are also available.

A summary report of the consultation responses is available below. Copies of all the responses received was published on 11 July 2007.
