Public Health Outcomes Framework 2016 to 2019
Sets out desired outcomes for public health and how they will be measured.
The Public Health Outcomes Framework concentrates on:
- increased healthy life expectancy
- reduced differences in life expectancy
- healthy life expectancy between communities
This document sets out the technical specifications of the indicators in the revised Public Health Outcomes Framework. Local authorities must consider this document when carrying out their public health functions.
Following a consultation on the Public Health Outcomes Framework, it was decided that some existing indicators and sub-indicators would be revised, replaced or removed. Details of the changes and the reasons behind them are in the government response to the consultation.
