The document contains the contents of a letter which the Prime Minister has sent to all British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies on beneficial ownership.

This follows the announcement earlier this week that there will be an open, publicly available company register in the UK so that it is possible to see who owns what and ensure that people pay the taxes they owe.

Corporate transparency was a key commitment for the Prime Minister at G8 in 2013 and he is encouraging the Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies to follow the UK’s lead and to work on setting up full, publicly available registers.
