Detail

There are many reasons why primary schools decide to convert to academy status.

Primary school leaders have told the department they would like more information from their peers, whose schools have already converted, about the main benefits of academy conversion and the sort of things they considered as they prepared to convert.

In response to this feedback the Department for Education has produced this short magazine, which features stories from a number of heads, a chair of governors and a school business manager about how academy conversion worked for their school and why they think it might work for other primaries.
