Details
The parent, pupil and learner voice was set up to provide robust, rapid research on the experiences of parents, pupils and learners on topical education issues.
In December 2023, the Department for Education (DfE) recruited a panel of:
- parents or carers of primary school pupils in years 1 to 6
- parents or carers of special school pupils in years 1 to 11
- parents or carers of secondary school pupils in years 7 to 11
- secondary school pupils in years 7 to 11
The panel were asked questions submitted by policy teams across DfE.
More detail on the methodology can be found in ‘Parent, pupil and learner voice technical report: 2023 to 2024 academic year’.
On 29 January 2026, minor corrections were made to the parent, pupil and learner voice reports for December 2023 and February 2024. There are no changes to the published data tables. Contact DfE if you need details of the changes.
