At the Autumn Budget on 28 October 2026, the government published its Summary of Responses and Government Response on the Northern Growth Strategy.

This document builds on Northern Growth Strategy: Next Steps and summarises the 131 substantive responses received through the Invitation for Views launched on 19 March 2026. The evidence received has informed the next phase of the Strategy and the development of measures announced at the Autumn Budget, alongside wider work with Mayors, businesses and other partners across the North.

This follows the publication of Northern Growth Strategy: Case for Change on 14 January 2026 and Northern Growth Strategy: Next Steps on 19 March 2026.

A stronger northern economy is an essential part of the government’s national growth plan. The Northern Growth Strategy will continue to develop the government’s approach to supporting stronger growth and investment across the North.
