This MSN will come into force on the day the UK leaves the EU and will replace MGN 408 (M+F).

This notice should be read in conjunction with marine guidance note MGN 20 (M+F), which provides details of, and guidance on, the merchant shipping and fishing vessels (health and safety at work) regulations 1997.

Notice to

  • ship, yacht and fishing vessel owners
  • operators and managers and other employers of seafarers
  • masters
  • officers and seafarers on merchant ships and yachts
  • skippers and crew on fishing vessels and small commercially operated vessels.
