Monitoring the humaneness and effectiveness of badger culling in 2014

Details of how the humaneness and effectiveness of badger culling, to prevent the spread of bovine TB in cattle, will be monitored in 2014.

This document sets out how the effectiveness and humaneness of this year’s badger culls in West Somerset and West Gloucestershire will be monitored.

The monitoring procedures have been developed by Defra working with Natural England and the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA). They will be set out in both organisations’ standard operating procedures, to ensure that reporting is consistent and reliable.
