Additional guidance on implementation of bollards as a vehicle security barrier (VSB) around busy buildings. The foremost guidance is the traffic advisory leaflet (TAL) ‘Bollards and pedestrian movement TAL 2/13’.

This TAL provides additional guidance to:

  • inform owners
  • operators
  • designers
  • project managers

in the planning and design of VSB schemes, minimising the impact on pedestrian flow.

The full research reports (Phase 1 and Phase 2) are available.
