Income Tax: leaving the UK - getting your tax right (P85)

Use the online service or postal form to claim tax relief or any tax refund you're owed if you've left or are about to leave the UK.



If you’ve left or are about to leave the United Kingdom, to claim tax relief or any tax refund you’re owed and to tell HM Revenue and Customs about any UK income you continue to get, you can:

  • use the Verify online service - you’ll need an account with GOV.UK Verify – it’ll take you about 15 minutes to sign up if you don’t already have an account and you’ll soon be able to use it with other government services

  • fill in form on-screen, print and post to HM Revenue and Customs

You’ll need to fill in the postal form fully before you can print it. You can’t save a partly completed form so you should gather all your information together before you begin to fill it in.
