This report reviews data from each of the 4 UK programmes for the infectious diseases in pregnancy screening (IDPS) programmes in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It assesses the effectiveness of the programmes in reducing vertical transmission (during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding) of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B and syphilis. The report also considers the wider impact and effectiveness of IDPS programmes.
