The information below sets out how and when we will answer your enquiries using Twitter.



Our service

We aim to respond to questions sent to @FCOtravel on Twitter during the following times:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm: we will monitor questions and aim to respond within 2 hours.
  • Monday to Friday, 5.30pm to 9am, weekends and bank holidays: we will monitor questions but will only respond in a crisis situation. All non-crisis enquiries will be dealt with during office hours.
  • In an emergency, you can speak to us for help and advice 24/7 by telephone on +44 (0)207 008 1500, or by calling your nearest British embassy, consulate or high commission, and selecting the relevant option from the menu.
