Details
You can apply for help with a court or tribunal fee:
Use the calculator to work out your eligibility for help with fees based on your:
- income – how much money you earn through paid work and receive through other sources
- disposable capital – the total value of your assets (the money, property and stocks or shares you own) minus specific allowances or things that are disregarded
Read How to apply for help with fees (EX160A) for full guidance on eligibility, including what counts towards your income and disposable capital.
Income calculation
If you are calculating on income, you will enter your information and (if applicable) your partner’s information. You will then be shown your ‘maximum contribution’.
The maximum contribution is how much you would have to pay towards any fee based on your income. For example, for a fee of £100 a maximum contribution of £80 would mean that you would be expected to only pay £80 – the remaining £20 would be ‘remitted’ (taken off what you need to pay).
Disposable capital calculation
If you are calculating on disposable capital, you will enter your information and (if applicable) your partner’s information, and the value of the fee. You will then be shown whether you are eligible.
