Research background 

DWP currently provides a range of policies which provide enhanced support to unemployed claimants over 50 years old. DWP has undertaken evaluation work to assess the delivery and impact of some the 50PLUS policies.  

Three elements of this evaluation activity have already been published:

• the Evaluation of the Private Sector Midlife MOT 

• the Evaluation of the Midlife MOT group sessions 

• the JCP Midlife MOT group sessions MI report 

Contribution to the evidence base  

The publication of this evaluation evidence helps build on the understanding what works for the unemployed 50 plus age group in helping them move towards and into work.  

Research value 

Evidence will be used to inform policy development for 50 plus claimants.
