Guidance for people taking part in the European Social Fund cohort study

This research reports the findings of a 2-wave survey with participants of the 2007 to 2013 England European Social Fund (ESF) Programme. It provides evidence on the longer term outcomes for participants and their views and experiences of the help they received.

We use the evidence from the research to report against targets set out in the 2007 to 2013 Operational Programme largely around:

  • results for lone parents
  • outcomes 6 months after someone has left the programme

These are reported on in the ESF annual implementation reports. The findings have also informed target setting for the ESF 2014 to 2020 Programme.
