Details
The seventh children’s social care and first SEND directions issued in August 2023 are revoked. Directions issued by the Department for Education on 11 February 2026 replace them.
The revised seventh direction recognises the decision of the Secretary of State to appoint Paul Moffat as Children’s Services Commissioner for Slough Borough Council.
The statutory direction for SEND requires the council to take steps to improve its SEND services, including co-operating with the Children’s Services Commissioner, Paul Moffat. This direction follows the joint Ofsted and Care Quality Commission local area SEND report.
The revised sixth direction sets out the services agreement between the council and Slough Children First from 1 April 2021, regarding operational responsibilities for children’s social care functions. It replaces the fifth direction issued in May 2020 and was revoked following the revised seventh direction issued in August 2023.
