1. Apply for a registered design
Use the DF2A to apply for a registered design. It is cheaper to apply for a design online rather than the paper application.

2. Application to register designs divided from an earlier application
Use the DF2B if you need to register designs divided from an earlier application. It costs £60 for the first new design application and £40 for any additional new applications.

3. Application to register a deferred design
Use the DF2C if you wish to register a design(s) which you previously deferred when you applied.

4. Update details of the owner or the representative
Use these forms if you need to update personal or representatives details for an application. For example, notifying the IPO that you have sold your design (DF12A), changed address (DF16A) or appointed a representative (DF1A).

5. Renew or restore a design
Use the DF9A to renew a design or the DF29 to restore a design. You can renew your design online via the first link below.

6. Request documents or information
Use the DF21 if you want the IPO to search the UK register for a design. Use the DF23 to request a certified copy of a design, or use the DF5A if you want a written statement that explains the reasons for a decision in respect of a design.

7. Invalidate, defend or cancel a registration
Use the DF19A to request to invalidate a design. Use the DF19B if you want to defend a design application and use the DF19C to give up a design registration.

Use the DC1 form to confirm convention country priority claim relating to UK application for registered design.

9. Notice of appeal to the appointed person
Use the DF55 to file an appeal following a decision about a design. Use the DRF55 to appeal a decision for a design right form.
