  1. This guidance has been updated as part of UK Security Vetting’s ongoing review of all our gov.uk content, in consultation with subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders, to ensure that it accurately represents current vetting policy, processes and terminology.

  2. Attachment UKSV: Interview Checklist has been removed as it duplicated guidance already available in United Kingdom Security Vetting: Applicant. Please refer to this guide instead. Attachment UKSV National Security Vetting Solution: guidance for applicants has been removed. It contained outdated information and was in an non-accessible PDF format. It has been superseded by the HTML-format guide UKSV National Security Vetting Solution: guidance for applicants, which is also available on this page.

  3. This guidance has been updated as part of UK Security Vetting’s ongoing review of all our gov.uk content, in consultation with subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders, to ensure that it accurately represents current vetting policy, processes and terminology. We are working to remove duplicate, redundant, and outdated documents where possible, as well as those which do not meet accessibility standards. Where this has happened, users may find that URLs have been redirected to take you to the current guidance.

  4. Hints and tips guide on completing the e-form updated to align with current form and current policy.

  5. Guidance updated to reflect launch of new Level 1B and new UKSV Helpdesk service

  6. Wording re required documents updated to reflect change in UK divorce law from April 2022.
