Details

This publication sets out requirements for awarding organisations to provide data about GCSEs, A levels and AS levels to Ofqual. It also sets out the procedures you should follow when submitting data.

Reporting deadlines

Please read the attached ‘November 2018 data exchange procedures’ document for full details of reporting requirements, the dates below are just highlights of final deadlines.

Friday, 21 December Report all GCSE English language outcomes at grades 9, 7, 5, 4 and 1, using template 1, no later than two days after the provisional sign-off of the award.
Friday, 21 December Report all GCSE mathematics outcomes at grades 9, 7, 5, 4 and 1, using template 2, no later than two days after the provisional sign-off of the award.
Friday, 21 December Report all GCSE English language spoken language outcomes at pass, merit and distinction using template 3.
Friday, 21 December Report all November 2018 GCSE English language results for re-sitting 17-year-olds and all learners compared with GCSE English language results for the same learners in June 2018, using template 4, no later than two days after the provisional sign-off of the award.

  1. Updated for November 2018 exams series.

  6. Summary text gave an incorrect submission date for GCSE English and English language. This has now been fixed.
  7. Updated for November 2016 data exchange.
  8. On page 4 of the 'Summer 2016 Data Exchange Procedures' we changed the reference year for legacy AS to 2015 rather than the average of 2011/2012. This is to provide a meaningful comparison with the 2016 cohort, given that students in 2011 and 2012 had the opportunity to enter units and certificate in January. This change has the support of all exam boards.
