The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is advising regular asymptomatic testing for adult care home staff, residents, visitors, and visiting professionals in England. This is to identify any positive cases in adult care homes as early as possible to enable people to self-isolate to reduce the spread of infection and minimise outbreaks.

Full guidance on regular asymptomatic testing for staff, residents, and visiting professionals can be found in the guidance documents as well as guidance on testing during an outbreak.

The guidance advises staff to do a daily lateral flow test everyday they are working, before starting work.

Full guidance on testing for care home visitors can be found in the visiting arrangements in care homes guidance.

See the coronavirus (COVID-19) testing for adult social care (ASC) settings page for information about each of the specific lateral flow tests, terms and conditions, and the testing privacy notice.
