Details

On 1 October 2021 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs approved the proposals for Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 of the report. Their decision is outlined in the notice.

The habitats regulations assessment updates part of the sensitive features report. A European court ruling in 2018 affects how Natural England carries out this type of assessment. The document takes account of any changes to the proposals since the date of submission and incorporates the latest available data and evidence.

For VR10: On 20 October 2022 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs announced their decision to approve a variation at Esk Boathouse, Castletown, Cumbria between Gretna and Allonby.

For VR13: On 8 February 2023 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs announced their decision to approve a variation at Silloth Docks, Silloth, Cumbria between Gretna and Allonby.
