Ribotyping will enable better care and outbreak control for colleagues, NHS Trusts and patients, and help control Clostridium difficile.

These documents contain guidance on accessing the service and good practice for storing samples to control Clostridium difficile

NHS laboratories must discuss the cases with the ribotyping laboratory first before sending specimens. Laboratories need to provide patient outcome data on receipt of the ribotyping results, as a condition of accessing this service.
