This guidance has now been updated and included as part of Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Applies to England

This guidance explains the options for:

  • staff in school based nurseries and maintained nursery schools
  • staff in private, voluntary and independent nurseries (PVIs)
  • childminders

The asymptomatic testing programme does not replace the current testing policy for those with symptoms. Anyone with symptoms should self-isolate immediately and follow government guidance on symptomatic testing.
