What Marine Accident Investigation Branch does

The MAIB investigates marine accidents involving UK vessels worldwide and all vessels in UK territorial waters.

Captain Andrew Moll is interim Chief Inspector of Marine Accidents following the retirement of Captain Steve Clinch MNM earlier this year. A permanent appointment will be announced in due course.

MAIB works with the Department for Transport.
