Influenza vaccine uptake among frontline healthcare workers data collection

Guidance to organisations involved in gathering data on influenza vaccines.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

As part of the mandatory collection of data on vaccinating frontline healthcare workers against influenza during the 2011/12 influenza season SHAs have the responsibility to check and validate the data that is going to be provided.

Therefore, with the ongoing reorganisation of primary care the Department has asked that PCTs should provide data on the vaccination of frontline healthcare staff working in primary care in the same way that has been  done in previous years. This letter explains that those responsible for gathering such information should ensure that data is accurate and reliable.

A second letter stresses that Trusts and SHAs should continue in achieving high response rates for this survey by gathering data on influenza vaccinations administered between 1 September 2011 and 31 January 2012. The letter also includes a schedule for data collection and explains about availability of a user guide to assist those involved in the exercise.
