The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health Innovation and Safety is responsible for:
- NHS data and technology
- medicines and medtech (medical technology)
- life sciences, research and innovation
- international and trade, including devolved governments
- patient safety
- blood, transplant and organs
- disabilities and SEND (special educational needs and disabilities)
- hospital discharge and clinical pathway reform

Dr Zubir Ahmed MP
Dr Zubir Ahmed MP was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Health and Social Care on 6 September 2025. He was elected as the MP for Glasgow South West in July 2024.
