Details

This statistical release presents the number of finds of treasure and portable antiquities reported and recorded through the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

Prior to 2007 statistics were published separately but when the British Museum, which manages the Scheme on behalf of the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council, took over the administration of Treasure and the Treasure Valuation Committee in March 2007 they decided to combine them.

Previous statistics were published in the treasure and portable antiquities annual report.

These official statistics are released by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
