SEND and inclusion training for post-16 settings
Free in-house training materials to help post-16 settings develop inclusive teaching practices.
Free training materials for teachers and support staff in post-16 settings developed by Ambition Institute. The materials are informed by and complement Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF) Inclusive teaching guidance.
Using the materials
The training package is part of the government’s special educational needs and disability (SEND) reform plans for an inclusive education system and aims to support teachers and support staff:
- build confidence and expertise in inclusive teaching practices
- create positive, supportive and inclusive learning environments
- understand and respond effectively to individual needs
Training sessions are designed to be delivered by an in-house facilitator and are adaptable to suit your setting and team learning needs. Most sessions take around an hour to deliver and can be run as standalone sessions or combined into a training day. We encourage post-16 settings to deliver the training, but it is not mandatory.
