DCMS Sectors Skills Estimates
This series brings together statistics relating to skills shortages and gaps in the DCMS sectors.
About
These statistical publications contain information on skills estimates in the DCMS sectors.
In February 2023, Machinery of Government changes meant that responsibility for the digital and telecoms sectors moved from DCMS to the newly created Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
The updated definition of DCMS Sectors was first reflected in DCMS Skills Shortages and Skills Gaps: 2022, UK release. In the DCMS Sectors Skills Shortages and Skills Gaps: 2019 data release, figures for the digital sector and telecoms were still included in the DCMS Sector total. As the definition of the individual DCMS sectors did not change, it is therefore safe to draw comparisons between 2019 and 2022 data for individual sectors, as long as the geographical coverage of the data is the same. However, figures for 2024 onwards are for the UK overall, therefore comparisons cannot be made to 2019 which excluded Scotland.
