Details

Target Groups for support:

  • existing staff who need to upgrade their skillsets to remain competitive in the labour market
  • people made redundant & furloughed staff
  • the Self-Employed Workforce

A range of interventions are required dependent on the individual circumstances, those recently made redundant or on furlough may require short-term advice guidance and skills training and support to move back into work whilst those who have been made redundant from high street retailing for example, will need more intensive support and retraining to enable them to move towards and into employment in different business sectors.

Generally, the measures proposed by applicant organisations must be flexible, agile and tailored to individuals given the constantly changing economic and wider societal environments that COVID-19 has brought. Individual activities such as Training Needs Analysis (TNA), transferable workforce and sector specific skills training (including digital skills), IAG and job search support are the types of services that should be on offer to reverse the negative impacts of COVID-19 on targeted individuals to enable either returns to sectors once more normal economic activities return or following retraining and new skills attainment enabling transfer into growth and stable economic sectors.

Applications are encouraged from consortia or other similar types of partnership arrangements.
