Details

This call is for the four LEP areas of:

  • Greater Birmingham and Solihull
  • The Black Country
  • Coventry and Warwickshire
  • Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The 2021 Coventry City of Culture and the 2022 Commonwealth Games will be held in and around the cities of Birmingham and Coventry with events also held in the Black Country and Staffordshire and they will be a key focus in enabling and driving economic growth throughout the West Midlands area.

This call activity will support unemployed people and encourage inactive residents to move closer to employment through participation in sports coaching and leadership, leisure and creative skills; as well as volunteering; stewarding and marshalling; thereby increasing the confidence; skills and employability of participants and empowering them to take full advantage of employment opportunities created before, during and after the City of Culture and the Commonwealth Games take place.

This call aims to address unemployment barriers and basic skills / training needs required by employers such as, but not limited to: literacy and numeracy, IT, CSCS, SIA, Event Stewardship/Crowd Control qualifications, hospitality, catering and tourism related qualifications etc.

Location

The project must cover the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP, Black Country LEP, Coventry and Warwickshire LEP & Stoke and Staffordshire LEP areas.

Value

Approximately £4,000,000 of ESF is available.

Deadlines

Full application deadline: 23rd February 2021

Completion date

Projects must be financially completed (i.e. have a proposed Financial Completion Date) no later than 31st December 2023; however, the Managing Authority reserves the right to vary the maximum duration in exceptional circumstances.

To apply for funding under this call you will need to complete and submit your Full Application via the ECLAIMS IT System.

Please note: the ECLAIMS IT System can only be access from within the UK.

Full Applications submitted in the ECLAIMS IT System after the call closing date shown above and on the call specification will not be appraised.

You will need to request an External Access Form for each person in your organisation who requires access.
