You cannot learn to ride a moped until you’re 16
You can apply for a provisional licence at 15 years and 9 months old. You can learn to ride a moped and take a moped test at 16.
You must take:
- compulsory basic training before you ride on the road
- the moped test within 2 years
The same licence covers you to learn to drive a car at 17. You do not need to reapply.
