You may be able to use the Registered Traveller Service if you’re from the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia or New Zealand. There’s no fee for this pilot service.

You’ll be able to use UK/EEA channels at border control and you won’t need a landing card if you fly into Gatwick or Heathrow.

You’ll need your passport to apply.


To register for the pilot service you must:

  • be from the United States of America, Canada, Japan, Australia or New Zealand
  • be 18 or over
  • have visited the UK at least 4 times in the last 52 weeks
  • have been registered for the iris immigration registration system (IRIS)

The pilot service ends in summer 2014. You’ll be contacted to register and pay a fee for the full service.
